Zhongguancun-based enterprises stole the spotlight at the award ceremony of the National Science Technology of the Year in Beijing.
Five foreign experts and 279 projects were awarded for their accomplishments over the past year, 36 of which were Zhongguancun enterprises.
The Best Science and Technology of the Year award went to Zhao Zhongxian, an academician at the Institute of Physics, and Tu Youyou, a research scientist at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.
In addition, Zhongguancun enterprises obtained 29 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, comprising roughly 22.5 percent of the overall total. The second prize of the State Technological Invention Award was awarded to a further seven enterprises, accounting for about 14.9 percent of the invention awards.
The IV Generation of the TD-LTE, issued by the China Academy of Telecommunication Technology, won the outstanding championship of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
