Eight programs reached agreements to promote industrial upgrading and accelerate industrial economic growth in Hebei province during a Beijing-Hebei-Caofeidian Collaborative Development Demonstration Promotion Conference held on Dec 21 at the Zhongguancun Science Park.
Six of the outlined industrial projects obtained 3.6 billion yuan ($518.25 million) in total investment.
During the promotion conference, Yu Xueqiang, deputy mayor of Tangshan, Hebei province, said Caofeidian is intended to become a demonstration zone with the fastest economic growth through the build of six bases and one district, which are bases for high-tech achievement transformations, for modern industrial processing and manufacturing, for information service outsourcing, for application technology education, for collaborative innovation and entrepreneurship, and for modern agriculture demonstration, and a district to carry Beijing universities.

Wang Rufang, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, said promoting the construction of the Caofeidian collaborative development demonstration area will help accelerate the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei province collaborative community and it will become a carrier of the technological chains in these areas.
Caofeidian, a district in the city of Tangshan, Hebei province, located at the center of the Bohai Rim, is the core of the International Logistics Center and the International Trade Center in the city and is the strategic center of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborative development.
The Zhongguancun Science Park and Caofeidian have signed a strategic agreement on expanding cooperation to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries in the area.
