On Dec 21, the 2016 Dongsheng Cup International Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park in Zhongguancun, China’s equivalent of Silicon Valley and one of the country’s leading accelerators for technology and environmental companies.
More than 860 entrepreneurship programs from both home and abroad were involved, eight of which were selected and entered the finals. The rewards of the competition are diverse, ranging from the more traditional cash prize to free address registration and office space. A cash prize of one million Yuan ($ 143,876) will be given to the winner.
The competition lasted 174 days and was jointly held by the Beijing Municipal Graduate Career Service Center, the Haidian district Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park Committee and the Beijing Dongsheng Expo Investment Management Co. Ltd.
The finals used a challenging one-vs-one elimination format, and three different themed entrepreneurship training camps were designed for the finalists.
Relevant services will remain on offer afterwards. For instance, an “entrepreneurship card” project will be launched, and individuals who are enthusiastic about entrepreneurship will be able to apply for the card.
In addition, the science and technology park and a 30,000 square meters entrepreneurship space linking domestic and foreign well-known colleges and universities was built for entrepreneurial development.
