Tourism bureaus of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden recently announced their strategic cooperation with Baidu Map in a news conference in Beijing.

During their trips in the four countries, Chinese tourists can use the Chinese language mapping services by online search giant Baidu Inc.

Not only can users download the offline maps on their mobiles in advance, but also search for scenic spots or restaurants. Baidu Map also offers some simple phrases in Chinese and the local language, in case one needs to ask the locals for directions.

Heads of the tourism bureaus introduce their tourism resources. Tourists can visit Hans Christian Andersen's hometown, Odense, in Denmark to meet characters of his fairy tales. They can see the rare auroras and chat with Santa Clause in Finland. They can see the midnight sun and UNESCO World Heritage sites in Norway. They can also enjoy the picturesque natural views and stay in an ice hotel in Sweden.

The cooperation lasts until the end of 2017. The tourism bureaus and Baidu Map will work with each other in terms of social media promotions, data integration and exchange and news conferences.

Li Dongmin, manager of Baidu Map, said at the event that thanks to the success of their internationalization plan this year, Baidu Map's service would cover globally in 209 countries and regions.
