The 20th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium will be held in Beijing Hotel from November 3 to 4 with a theme of “Exchange Resources, Motivate Two-way Investment, Share Opportunities, and Create Prosperity”. Initiated in 1997, the symposium has become an important carrier of cooperation and development and a high-efficiency platform.
A total of 13 special events in Beijing covering technology, culture, youth entrepreneurship and Beijng-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development will be promoted in the 18 major activities to be held during the two-day symposium.

To date, 71 projects worth over 10 million U.S. dollars have registered. 261 investment projects have been released; 155 will be announced during the symposium.
Investment from Hong Kong reached US$5.14 billion in the first eight months of 2016, accounting for 41.5 percent of Beijing's utilized foreign direct investment (FDI), according to the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau.
By August this year, Hong Kong had established a total of 9,157 companies in Beijing, with an actual investment of 48.82 billion U.S. dollars, mainly in the areas of leasing and commercial services, real estate, information transmission, IT services and software industries.
Hong Kong is also the top overseas investment destination for Beijing-based companies. From January to August this year, Beijing's direct investment in Hong Kong reached 7.57 billion U.S. dollars, up by 127.4 percent year-on-year.
