iReader, China’s leading brand for digital reading, released its “Go global strategy” at the recent 11th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE). iReader has been in overseas markets for a year, with its app topping the sales lists in more than 60 countries and regions as it provides 300,000 Chinese books to overseas readers.

iReader, the only Chinese digital reading platform, started to aim at overseas markets in July, 2015. Since then it has been enhancing its promotions in foreign countries. At the beginning of this year, it joined the New Delhi International Book Fair in India; in May, it participated in the Book Exposition of America in Chicago and won praise from American readers; in July, it joined in the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival, reaching cooperative consensus with many Korean content suppliers; in September, it participated in the China-ASEAN Expo and in October it showcased Chinese enterprise’s achievements in the digital reading sector to leading international publishing groups at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

How is iReader able to attract overseas readers in such fiercely competitive markets? Zhang Lingyun, founder of iReader, said that iReader has accumulated world-leading digital reading technologies by serving domestic readers for years and it owns a huge number of books loved by young readers, which has enabled it to cluster young Chinese-language audiences in a short time. Besides, iReader has the copyrights of numerous classic books, such as The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West and A Dream in Red Mansions, and has transformed them into digital books for the benefit of overseas Chinese readers.

According to Zhang, iReader has served domestic readers for eight years and reached 600 million users, 20 million of whom use it every day. Based on Chinese copyright content and digital reading technology, iReader has won the affections of global Chinese and topped sales lists in more than 60 countries and regions. iReader has been recommended many times by Google Play Store and Apple Store for its excellent customer-use experience.
