What can we do to tackle Beijing air pollution?

There are two major contributors to the air pollution. Air conditioners (through the amount of electricity generated to power them) and car exhausts. As long as electricity is produced by coal or fossil fuels there will be heavy pollution.

What can we do to tackle Beijing air pollution?
