Enrico Brandt, cultural affairs officer at the German embassy in Beijing, and Ralf Niebergall, vice-president for European Affairs Federal Chamber of German Architects (BAK), delivered speeches. Both of them regarded the event as a significant opportunity for Chinese and German experts to exchange views and carry out long-term cooperation.

According to the organizer, a series of forums and lectures on urban planning, design, construction, landscape and structure will be held to facilitate all-round discussion of the artisan spirit. Authoritative domestic and overseas academic achievements also will be shared during the week.

An exhibition titled Contemporary Architecture Made in Germany was opened to the public on the same day.
