The 23rd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) is opening in a month, with exhibitors gearing up to make their presence felt at the 66,000 square meter China International Exhibition Center in Shunyi, northeastern Beijing, from August 24-28.

Different from previous years, this year's Children's Hall, in addition to having more than 80 Chinese and international Children's publishers exhibiting their latest publications, will also feature a 1500-square-meter Picture Book Exhibition.

According to the organizers, more than 10,000 picture books from around the world will be showcased alongside themed displays of Alice in Wonderland, Bedtime Stories and Dinosaurs.

The Chinese picture books to be exhibited are a highlight for the Picture Book Exhibition, as Chinese picture books have been enjoying rising popularity among young Chinese fellows in recent years.

Here, we've selected popular picture books drawn by Chinese cartoonists. The books, no matter the style or content, are all quite Chinese.
