The quality and presentation of fashion shows in the country have changed dramatically with China's rapid economic development. Fashion models (above) at a runway show in Beijing in 1991. Such shows were combined with concerts at the time.
Fast forward to late 2015, and the country's fashion business is now in tune with the rest of the world. China has many supermodels and has staged high-end shows like this supermodel contest (below) held in Binzhou, East China's Shandong province.
