On June 2, or 100 days before its 120th anniversary, Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) held an opening ceremony for a fundraiser called "One Heart and One Soul".

An on-line donation platform called "WE ∙ Love 120" was also launched during the ceremony.

Cao Guoyong, Party secretary of BJTU, expressed his gratitude to all the participants for their efforts in preparing for the upcoming anniversary celebration as well as their contribution to the development of BJTU. He also called on the 100,000 alumni around the world, the general public and all the staff and students to donate to BJTU's construction of a world-class university.

Donations from alumni enterprises, including Beijing Jiaoda Signal Technology, Beijing Simpleware, Beijing Taichuang Technology, and Pengfu International Investment, were received at the ceremony by Ning Bin, president of the university.

Outside the ceremony hall, several donation booths were set up at places with high pedestrian flow. School staff and students actively participated in the fundraiser to benefit the university's work.

Twelve on-line donation programs in support of student scholarships, new buildings, retired faculty, athletics, 120th anniversary activities, local alumni association foundations, and welfare bridge-building program were also initiated on the "WE ∙ Love 120" platform during the ceremony.

The "One Heart and One Soul" fundraiser is an important part of the university's "Jiaoda Dream" funding plan which was started in May 2015 in celebration of its 120th anniversary.

Faculty members, alumni and students attended the event.
