Invited by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, 18 members of the song and dance troupe MusicFest of South Africa arrived in China on April 29 for a visit that will end on May 8.

On Sunday the troupe gave an exciting performance at the 16th Meet in Beijing Arts Festival at the 798 Art Zone in Beijing. As the only troupe from Africa, their passionate performance was well received by audiences.

The troupe also attended the activity Sway with South Africa at Peking University on Monday and presented African classical drum music and dances.

The National Center for the Performing Arts was established in 1987 and the troupe presented both African traditional dances and pop music in South Africa.

Next, the troupe will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2016 African Culture in Focus in Beijing's Yanqing district.
