Profits grow in Zhongguancun

Corporations in Zhongguancun grew hand in hand with Beijing's economy in the first quarter. Corporate profit in Zhongguancun increased 42.6 percent in the first quarter, marking 19 consecutive months of growth over 25 percent.

Corporations in the Science Park achieved a total income of 721.29 billion yuan ($116.20 billion) from January to March, a year-to-year increase of 15.4 percent, according to the Zhongguancun Administrative Commission.

New energy and electronic information technology were the major sources of total income of Zhongguancun, which contributed 7.3 percent and four percent of income growth respectively.

The NEXT can monitor the surgical needle in real time and heal these kinds of diseases. This high-end medical device is expected to be approved and implemented to general patients within two years.

Zhongguancun has countless corporations similar to the United Imaging Healthcare which depend on high technology and low energy consumption.

The average income of Zhongguancun employees reached 415,000 yuan by March, increasing 34,000 yuan and 8.9 percent year to year. The average profit created by each staff member was 23,000 yuan and increased 34.6 percent. Each staff member paid an average of 27,000 yuan of taxes, which grew 4.1 percent.

Internet, energy, and satellite applications have huge advantages in Zhongguancun Science Park.

Among these, the electronic information industry has long been seen as the most outstanding. This industry is expressed as an innovative and high tech integration of the human brain plus computer.

Total income from this industry reached 287.32 billion yuan in the first quarter, 40 percent of the total income of Zhongguancun and an increase of 18.5 percent. The industry contributed nearly 50 percent of Zhongguancun's income.

In addition, new energy and energy saving industries realized 88.21 billion yuan of income in the first quarter. The industry had highest growth rate, 40 percent.

Strategic emerging industries in Zhongguancun achieved 25.02 billion yuan profit from January to March, increasing 55.6 percent and 13 percentages higher than the overall profit.

Apart from biological science, high-end devices, general aviation, and emerging industries such as the mobile Internet have realized 20 percent of rapid profit growth.

Being energetic in entrepreneurship is the key of Zhongguancun's continuous growth. Up to 50 corporations are established everyday in Zhongguancun.

The number of new scientific and technological corporations reached 4,558 in the first quarter, growing 62 percent year to year, and 38.4 percent higher than the number of new corporations nationwide and 10 percent higher than the newly-established technological corporations in the entire city.

From January to April, 15 corporations were listed, in Zhongguancun,of which one was listed on the NASDAQ. By the end of April, the total number of listed corporations in Zhongguancun reached 269.

More than a hundred corporations achieved private equity investment and risk investment. Among which, nearly 60 percent of corporations were new companies less than a year old.

As Internet Plus becomes a national strategy, the Zhongguancun mobile Internet industry has experienced a new round of entrepreneurship.

A total of 18 Zhongguancun corporations, such as Baidu, JD.com, Qihoo 360, and Kunlun Games, were among the top 30 brands in China's mobile internet selected by Forbes. Zhonguancun led other science parks in the country, including Shenzhen.
