The electric passenger cars will be exempted from Beijing's restrictions on vehicle use based on license plate numbers, the Beijing Daily reported on April 9.
The news will have a positive impact on new energy vehicle producers, who are expected to adapt their production and sales plans in line with the new policy.
"We expect and will welcome a considerable surge in sales of such electric vehicles in near future following the announcement of new policy in Beijing," said Wang Shuili, assistant to the general manager of BAIC New Energy Vehicles Co's marketing services.
