The Beijing branch of the IC Cafe, a private cafe chain that aims to be an innovation and entrepreneurship platform, was officially launched in the Zhongguancun Innovation Street on Jan 25.
The coffee club, as an innovation and entrepreneurship platform that focuses on integrated circuit (IC) and intelligent hardware industry, was awarded the "Innovation Incubator" of the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone in January, 2015.
The Beijing branch was initiated by 300 senior IC professionals and will help promote the development of the IC industry in Zhongguancun.
It provides innovation and entrepreneurship services, including technology technical communication and media promotion, hardware supply chain, venture capital funds and incubation.
The IC Cafe currently has more than 50 entrepreneurial teams and many leading projects such as the world's first portable HD virtual reality glass, special chip and system solutions for image processing (ISP) and the first special SOC chip for an ultra-low power consumption intelligent watch based on Android.
The IC Cafe also plans to set up a venture capital fund and raise 100 million yuan ($16 million) for start-ups in IC and intelligent hardware industry.
