The third "Ice and Snow World" in the Olympic Park was launched in the capital on Dec 31, promoting Beijing's bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Wang Hui, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee, said that the year of 2015 will be essential for Beijing's Olympics bid. Beijing had the ability to host a unique Summer Olympics and will also show the world a successful Winter Olympics.
Guo Dandan, China's first freestyle skiing world champion also attended the opening ceremony.
