2014 Zhongguancun Big Data Day, themed "aggregating data assets and driving industrial innovation", was held in Beijing on Dec 11.
Several government officials, including Guo Hong, director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and Zhang Laiming, vice-minister of the Development Research Center of the State Council, delivered speeches at the event. About 800 representatives of nearly 300 big data enterprises from China and abroad were present.
Participants delivered their insights into big data assets, key technologies and industry experience, as well as explaining how to promote industrial collaboration and build a big data ecosystem that can achieve an across-the-board win-win result for all.
The event was organized by AsiaInfo, Cloud Valley, Guoyan Culture, Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance and BeagleData. As a pioneer in developing a national strategy for big data, Zhongguancun first advocated the application of big data, established Big Data Day and founded the alliance in 2012.
As a driver of big data technologies, products, industries and markets, the alliance has been facilitating the implementation of the concept of big data and driving its innovation. Hundreds of big data application enterprises emerged in the previous two years. Zhongguancun also established the first big data trading platform in China.
At the beginning of 2014, the administrative committee of Zhongguancun suggested accelerating the upgrading of the big data industry and building a global data center for entrepreneurship and innovation in Zhongguancun. Through developing and introducing key technology of big data, it will cultivate leading enterprises and promote industrial upgrading.
In addition, a service platform for big data trading was launched during the event. The platform will further improve the market system of the big data industry, promote data legislation, and drive the development of Beijing’s big data industry, according to Xuan Hong, deputy director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee.
