Beijing's Fengtai government recently held its first leadership meeting for Zhongguancun's Fengtai Park. The newly founded leaders are mainly responsible for organizing, planning and coordinating all areas of the park, as well as major development and construction projects.
They are required to focus on solving major problems in regional development, deepen the implementation of the State Council's review on the expansion of Zhongguancun Science Park, effectively boost the overall development of the expanded park and develop an effective decision making mechanism to achieve "win-win" results.
At the same time, the leadership is tasked with speeding up the transformation of Fengtai Park and bringing local economic and social development to a new level.
Fengtai Park has seen a lot of expansion over the years, from 8.18 square kilometers, to its current size of 17.63 square kilometers. A total of five parts and seven areas, including Xinxing Cathay International Group, China CNR Corp, China CSR Corp, China Shougang International Trade & Engineering Corp, and Lize Financial Business District were newly incorporated and are thus able to enjoy the supporting policies of the park.
The expansion aims to boost high-end, differentiated and coordinated development of all areas in the park, and will revolve around industrial planning, development and construction; establishing and improving work standards, mechanisms and procedures, and a build work unit and platform to facilitate its overall development. It will strive to achieve well-arranged, distinctive and the coordinated development of multiple sites at the park.
