The 2014 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting is held by the Yanqi Lake, in Huairou district, Beijing. Located eight kilometers north of the central Huairou district, the Yanqi Lake is a beautiful water spot at the foot of the Yanshan Mountain. The Great Wall lies to the north of the lake and to the south is the North China Plain. Every spring and autumn, wild geese visit the lake, which has thus earned the name of Yanqi (meaning goose in Chinese) Lake.
This assembly by Yanqi Lake is only a start, from which an Asia-Pacific partnership geared to the needs of the future as well as a harmonious and wonderful prospective homeland, are worthy of our common expectation.
