Wang, born in 1963, is a head nurse at Beijing Ditan Hospital. She started working in the hospital for infectious diseases after her graduation in 1984, where she devotes herself to serving HIV patients.
Wang keeps her mobile phone on at all times to answer questions from her patients. She responds patiently to questions like "What should I do? My condom is broken" and "Is it ok that I got my finger stuck in fish bones?"
Wang has created a holistic nursing model for outpatients that includes everything from psychological support to social relief. She emphasizes care for her patients' psychological needs and keeps in touch with them in various ways. She often visits the wards to chat and eat with them.
