The China Alcohol Drinks Industry Association held a conference in Beijing recently, announcing its eight "Best New Products of the Year" at the 2014 China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo. Wang Yancai, director of the association, gave a speech at the event attended by more than 70 media and sales representatives.

Song Shuyu, general secretary of the association, said the eight clear liquor products were chosen at the 2014 China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo in Luzhou, Sichuan province, from March 23 through 27. The competition featured 128 new alcoholic products from 98 brands. The judging panel consisted of 25 national-level wine experts, alcoholic beverage salespeople and consumers through on the spot and Internet polling.

The winning products are: Yibin Wuliangye's Wuliang Tequ, Jiangsu Sujiu Group's Organic Sujiu, Luzhou Laojiao's Luzhou Laojiao Tequ, Shaanxi Xifeng's Xifeng Dafengxiang, Guizhou's Guotai Alcohol Group's Red Guotai, Beijing Erguotou's Yidanliang Erguotou, Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenjiu's White Jade Fenjiu, and Cuiqing Grand Dragon's Grand Dragon organic dry red wine.

Song said the products reflect the highest level of technique and product development in the Chinese alcohol industry.

China's alcohol industry is in a period in which companies are trying to adjust to new market demands, he said. These products are attractive to consumers for their taste and price.
