Citizens celebrate the traditional Lantern Festival on the Ancient Culture Street.

Located at the three-river junction, Ancient Culture Street is an old street with a history of more than 600 years in Tianjin. The 580-meter street is the center of ancient architecture clusters and the Tianhou Temple sits at the heart of it. Tianhou Temple, also called Niangniang Temple, is one of the three most famous Mazu temples around the world. Shops are located along the two sides of the street selling curios and antiques, calligraphy, paper-cut art, and Chinese traditional souvenirs. Visitors can also find Yangliuqing Spring Festival Paintings, brick carvings, Kite Wei, and Clay Figure Zhang, all Tianjin traditional fine art products, all available here in the street.

The images of Clay Figure Zhang vary from palace maids in costume, historic figures, religious figures, and modern figures to local customs.

Drum-tower

Located at Shi Zi Street, a non-vehicle street at the heart of the old town of Tianjin, the Drum-tower is surrounded by architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasty styles. Chinese traditional fine arts products and souvenirs including jewelry, calligraphy, and Chinese paintings etc, are sold along the street.

Tianjin Theater Museum (Guangdong Assembly Hall)

Tianjin Theater Museum is the largest Qing Dynasty assembly hall with the most delicate interior decorations. The theater stage, one of the most precious Chinese wood-structure architectures, is the highlight of the museum. Up above the stage hangs the ten-ton spiral ceiling structure that funtions as a loudspeaker. Mr. Sun Yat-sen once gave a speech here in 1912.

Tianjin Confucian Temple Museum The Tianjin Confucian Temple Museum is built to commemorate one of the greatest thinkers and educators in ancient China—Confucius. . It is the most complete and the largest architecture cluster of Ming and Qing Dynasty in Tianjin.

Yangliuqing Qing Ming Street

Located at Yangliuqing Town, the street occupies a floor area of 40,000 square meters where Ming and Qing Dynasty style architecture clusters including old theater, square, and archaic stores are all lined up along the street presenting to visitors the prosperity that the street used to have. Here in the street visitors will find art products and souvenirs of Yangliuqing Spring Festival Paintings, kites, paper cut art works, and clay figures. Visitor can also enjoy an array of local cuisine and culture here.
