Airport Economic Zone (AEZ)

The Airport Economic Zone (AEZ) is considered a new growth pole for development of the eastern part of the capital and the first airport economic high-end park for the country.

The AEZ has formed functional clusters, such as the Beijing Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Beijing Tianzhu Airport Development Zone, Beijing Linhe Economic Development Zone, Guomen Business Area, Beijing Airport Logistics Base, and Beijing Automobile Production Base.

It has built an airline industry system with the aviation manufacturing industry as the core, along with aviation logistics, aviation research and development and aviation services in support.

The AEZ includes one state level comprehensive bonded zone and four economic functional zones at the municipal level. It has more than 30 of the global top 500 enterprises in operations, including Air China, Airbus, Lufthansa, the TNT Group, Hyundai, more than 80 multinational companies and 170 aviation and related enterprises and more than 600 foreign invested enterprises. It generated one eighth of Beijing's total industrial output and 4 percent of its economic aggregate. It will become a capital ecological international airport economic industrial new town, global airport high-tech industrial highland, a hub and gateway for international communications and a world-class innovative airport economic brand in the future.
