How did the lockdown in Wuhan help contain the epidemic?

Xiao Meng, assistant director from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, has been fighting the novel coronavirus in Wuhan. Xiao talked about the importance of the lockdown in Wuhan in a live show called COVID-19 Frontline.

"The basic rule of a lockdown is controlling infected patients and the infection source, as well as cutting the transmission roots," Xiao answered Professor Shabir A.Madhi at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday.
