WHO: Threat of COVID-19 is close to pandemic

At the WHO news briefing on Monday, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the spread of COVID-19 has reached close to pandemic level.
He said the WHO urged countries to take a comprehensive strategy for controlling the situation, and added it would be the first pandemic in history that could be controlled.
"The bottom line is: we are not at the mercy of this virus," Tedros added.
