Investment, financing peak forum on to be held in Beijing

China Midwest International Investment and Financing Peak Forum will be held in December in a bid to improve the investment environment and solve the financing problems of enterprises in the Central and West China regions.

The forum, held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and sponsored jointly by the Boao Forum for Asia and China Economy Research Institute, is expected to be held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing from 18-20, December.

"Open, innovation and development" will be the theme of the forum, said Wang Jinzhen, Secretary General with the CCPIT.

According to the organizing committee, the topic will focus on explaining the financial policy, solving the problem of capital shortage in Central-West China regions development, guiding the capital to flow into the Central-West China regions, and helping the enterprises list on the stock market.

Some of 500 people from the large state-owned enterprises, technology-intensive businesses and the government in the Central and West China regions are expected to attend the forum.

Wang Jinzhen said the forum is set to include several sub-forums -- innovation of the investment and financing of the enterprises in the Central-West China regions, capital operation and global investment strategy of the businesses, and the dialogue between the government and the financial sources.

According to China's 11th Five-Year Plan, the strategy on regional development and the approaches to develop the regional economy have been stressed, and the development of the Central-West China regions is the highlight among that.
