Guo Shengkun elected CPC chief of S China's Guangxi

NANNING, November 15 (Xinhua) -- Guo Shengkun was elected Communist Party chief of south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Tuesday.

Guo was elected secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the first plenary session of the 10th CPC Guangxi Zhuang Regional Committee held in Nanning, the region's capital.

Guo, 57, is a native of east China's Jiangxi province.

He joined the CPC in 1974, and was first elected as the Party chief of the region in 2007.
