BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 3:56 pm Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was monitored at 39.7 degrees north latitude and 143.2 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
