Sino-Polish university consortium launches
A consortium of 23 universities in China and Poland was established in Beijing on Tuesday, aiming to boost international cooperation and exchanges.
The Sino-Polish University Consortium was first proposed by Beijing University of Technology, Chongqing Jiaotong University and Opole University of Technology in Poland.
Its goal is to increase educational cooperation between China and central and eastern European countries, in line with the objectives of the Belt and Road Initiative that was first proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013.
The consortium will contribute to that cooperation, said Zheng Jichun, Party chief of Beijing University of Technology.
It will also work to accelerate Chinese enterprises' strategy of going global by offering intellectual support and services in local languages, laws, technologies, he added.
