The largest consumer pet show, London Pet Show kicked off in London on Saturday. Apart from the most popular pets such as cats and dogs have taken part in the show, pigs, chickens and rabbits were also seen on the show.
During the two-day show, visitors can not only see and touch more than 400 pets, but also enjoy fantastic pet shows, which include parrot displays, dog dances, cat grooming, micro pig racing, duck herding by dogs, ponies display and rabbit jumping.
In the Discover Aquatics &Exotics zone, visitors can see different kinds of creepy pets, such as bugs, spiders, lizards and snakes.
To encourage potential animal lovers to learn which pet suits them and to learn how to look after pets, special workshops will be available as to how to deal with dog's obesity, how to protect your pets and how to feed senior pets.
"I like small furry animals, and I have some rabbits. The relationship between the pet and the family is very important. The show is great, it educates people about the pet, and also educates children to love animals," said Shirley Beemam.
"I watched the dogs performance, it was brilliant, my daughter likes them very much. It's the first time we come to see the show. I have two dogs and an African hamsters and it's a nice place to see other animals," said Sarah Hickin.
As the fourth year of London Pet Show, about 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the show. In 2013, the event attracted over 20,000 pet lovers to come, and 79 percent of them own animals.
Statistics showed that about 13 million (45 percent of) household have pets in Britain in 2013, and the pet population in 2013 was 71 million (including fish). Fish, dogs, cats, rabbits, caged birds, Guinea pigs, hamsters and horses and ponies are among top ten pets in the country.
