President Vladimir Putin said Thursday Moscow has never planned to incorporate Crimea, insisting that danger for Russian-speaking population had been "absolutely palpable."

"We preplanned nothing, just following the current event ... when we've made the decision, everything was implemented fast and decisively," Putin said a live chat with Russian public.
