APEC has sent a delegation to learn from China's advanced e-commerce companies to facilitate the group's policymaking in that regard, a senior official from the Ministry of Commerce has said.

Wang Shouwen, the ministry's vice-minister, spoke at a news conference before President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam to attend the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting from Nov 10 to 11. Xi will then pay state visits to Vietnam and the Laos from Nov 12 to 14.

"China has played a very important role in setting up the framework for APEC's cross-border e-commerce facilitation," Wang said.

To help implement APEC plans to improve Asia-Pacific supply chain connectivity, China has also proposed establishing the Asia-Pacific Model E-port Network to improve the efficiency of information exchange among the ports, he said.

Beijing also proposed establishing a green supply chain network, he added.
