2 naval personnel killed in SW Pakistan terrorist attack

ISLAMABAD - At least two personnel working for Pakistani navy were killed and four others injured when some unknown militants sprayed bullets at their vehicle in the countrys southwest Gwadar district on Monday, local Urdu media reported.

Dawn News said that the militants ambushed the troopsvehicle in a market area of Jiwani city of Gawadar, a district located in the countrys southwest Balochistan province.

Police said that four assailants coming on two motorbikes attacked the forcesvehicle and fled the scene.

One troop was killed right at the spot in the incident, while four others who got injured were shifted to Naval hospital in the countrys southern port city of Karachi where one of them succumbed to injuries, bringing the death toll to two.

No group has taken credit for the attack yet.

Security forces cordoned off the area and kicked off search operation.

Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri condemned the attack and directed the concerned authorities to submit a report to him after completion of the investigations.
