China will hold the 13th senior officials' meeting on the implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea on Aug 16, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying announced on Tuesday.

The meeting, to be held in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will be attended by Vice-Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin and senior officials of the ASEAN countries' foreign ministries, Hua said.

Before the meeting, the 18th joint working group meeting on implementing the DOC will be held.

"China and the ASEAN countries will, according to the spirit of the joint statement the foreign ministers of China and the ASEAN countries issued on the full and effective implementation of the DOC, continue to have an in-depth exchange of views on implementing the DOC and pushing forward consultations over the 'South China Sea Code of Conduct'," Hua said.
