Vietnam, China mull boosting railway transportation

HANOI - Vietnam and China are discussing ways to boost railway transportation of passengers and cargo at an ongoing border railway conference which is taking place in Vietnam's central Da Nang city from Nov 24 to 27.

In addition to technical issues, Vietnamese and Chinese railways representatives are seeking measures to maintain the volume of passenger, cargo transport based on the current railway facilities of two countries, Nguyen Huu Thang, head of the Vietnam Railway Authority, told Bao Giao Thong (Transport News), an online newspaper under the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport on Wednesday.

The two sides will also discuss transportation of passengers between China's Kunming and Vietnam's Hanoi.
