Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Republic of Korea President Park Geun-hye on Wednesday, who is in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).
China would like to work with the ROK to boost the regional economy and develop the China-ROK strategic partnership, Li told Park.
Both sides should rely more on innovation and enhance cooperation in strategic industries including new energy, smart manufacturing and low-carbon technology, Li said.
The two countries should also make use of the China-ROK free trade agreement, seek to further develop the potential of their complementary economies, and promote cooperation in equipment manufacturing, science and technology, innovation and finance, Li said.
Park said the cooperation between ROK and China in politics and economy has developed into strategic level. ROK is willing to make full use of the free trade pact, enhance cooperation in trade, finance and investment, and boost ties in smart technology, telecommunication, and health.
The cooperation between ROK, China and Japan will be good for the regional peace and achieve joint development, and a new round of meeting between the three countries should be held as soon as possible, she said.
