China and the US have issued the US-China Joint Presidential Statement on Climate Change, in which China pledged 20 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) in support of a South-South climate cooperation fund to help other developing countries combat climate change.
The two sides reaffirm their determination to implement domestic climate policies, strengthen bilateral coordination and cooperation and promote sustainable development and the transition to green, low-carbon and climate-resilient economies.

At the opening ceremony of the Paris climate summit, President Xi Jinping said China would adopt new policy measures to improve the industrial mix, build a low-carbon system, develop green building and low-carbon transportation, and establish a nationwide carbon-emission trading market.
