An annual holiday favorite, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center offers three-program holiday celebration of the Baroque at the joyous Baroque Festival from Dec 4 through Dec 15 in Alice Tully Hall.
The three programs include Baroque Collection, The Baroque Keyboard, and Brandenburg Concertos.
The Festival culminates with three performances of a cherished CMS holiday tradition, Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos. The concertos stand at the pinnacle of Baroque musical art, and these festive performances is called a "New York holiday staple" by The New York Times.
Though an annual event, each season’s performances present a fresh perspective by presenting a new cast of players and a change in the order of concertos.
This year’s all-star line-up includes harpsichordist Kenneth Weiss; violinists Chad Hoopes, Paul Huang, Erin Keefe, and Daniel Phillips; violists Paul Neubauer and Richard O’Neill; cellists Dmitri Atapine, Jakob Koranyi, and Daniel McDonough; double bassist Joseph Conyers; flutists Sooyun Kim and Demarre McGill; oboists Randall Ellis, James Austin Smith, and Stephen Taylor; bassoonist Marc Goldberg; horn players Julie Landsman and Jennifer Montone; and trumpet player Brandon Ridenour.
