China is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with the United States to tackle terrorism and the illegal drug trade, and track down corrupt officials, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun said.
Guo made the comments while meeting with the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey in Washington.
"Security cooperation is an important part of the Sino-US relationship," Guo said. "It is of great significance for the two countries to improve exchanges, enhance mutual trust and expand pragmatic cooperation to jointly face security challenges".
Lynch and Comey said the US Department of Justice and the FBI valued cooperation with the Chinese public security sector in strengthening exchanges of information and working together to combat cyber terrorism and economic espionage.
