Cambodia cargo ship sinks off northern Japan, one missing

TOKYO - A Cambodian cargo ship with 10 crew members aboard sank near Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan on early Friday morning, with one still missing, local media reported.

According to Japan's Kyodo News Agency, the ship named "MING GUANG" sank approximately 18 kilometers off the Aomori coast at around 6:00 am local time. Seven of the crew members come from China, two from Bangladesh and one from Cambodia.

Another report by Mainichi Shimbun said nine people have been rescued, with two in a coma. The Aomori Coast Guard is still in search for the last person.
