India names new special representative for boundary talks with China

NEW DELHI -- The Indian government on Monday named national security adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval as its special representative on boundary talks with China.

Doval "has been appointed as the special representative of India to conduct boundary negotiations and strategic consultations with China," a Prime Minister's Office statement said.

China and India have held 17 rounds of talks by their special representatives for the boundary issues between the two countries.
