Cambodian PM to attend APEC in Beijing

PHNOM PENH - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a high delegation to attend Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Beijing, capital of China, Cambodian Foreign Ministry said in a news statement on Monday.

"The Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership will discuss opportunities and challenges for closer regional connectivity cooperation and seek solutions and ways to advance cooperation on the initiatives on 'Silk Road Economic Belt' and ' the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road'," it said.

"For the APEC Summit, it will exchange views on the key topics such as regional economic integration, innovative development and connectivity, " the statement added.

Hun Sen will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, Commerce Minister Sun Chanthol, Transport Minister Tram Iv Tek, and other members of the Cambodian government.

Besides attending the meeting, Hun Sen will meet separately with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao, according to the statement.
