SEOUL - The Republic of Korea (ROK) planned to offer a humanitarian aid worth $6.3 million to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Seoul's Unification Ministry said Monday.

A total of 6.3 million dollars will be sent to the World Health Organization (WHO)'s 12.6 million-dollar project to support DPRK children, the Ministry of Unification said in a statement.

The funds will come from the inter-Korean cooperation fund, Seoul's state funds to boost cooperation between Seoul and Pyongyang.

The ministry also allowed civic groups to send nutritional food, drugs and medical supplies to the DPRK that can help all people, after permitting the delivery of food and drugs for children in late July.

A total of 12 ROK's civic organizations have been allowed to send supplies worth 2.35 billion won ($2.13 million), the ministry added.
