Also, incumbent Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated the supreme leader, the Iranian nation and the president-elect on the "important" June 14 election, according to Press TV.
"I have always deeply believed in the vast and endless capacities of the Iranian nation of development and (achieving) greatness," Ahmadinejad said in his message.

He added "this was a major and powerful step taken toward national interests and management on the basis of moderation, reform and rationality."
He urged the international community to respect and "accept Iran's rights" and talk with the Iranians using "respectful language," so that "they would receive deserving response."
He also said that the Islamic republic and world powers would be able "to expand relations based on mutual respect," and would be able "to establish peace, security and development in the world and in the region."
