Explosion hits Bangkok, seven injured
BANGKOK - A suburban district of Thai capital Bangkok was hit by an explosion, suspectedly caused by a bomb Sunday night, leaving seven people injured.
Police said forensic were inspecting the scene and the cause of the blast had not been concluded yet.
The explosion occurred at the mouth of the Ramkhamhaeng Soi 43/ 1 in eastern Bangkok, injuring seven people, two of them seriously. It destroyed two stores and a dozen street vendors' stalls on the side of the busy Ramkhamhaeng road, the Bangkok post reported.
The blast panicked pedestrians and vendors who ran away from the scene.
The blast was initially reported to have been caused by an explosion at a power transformer but later was speculated as a suspected bombing.
