NEW DELHI - Indian police will invoke murder charges early next week against the six men who gan-raped and brutalized the 23-year-old medical student who died early Saturday morning in Singapore, reported Press Trust of India.

A senior police official was quoted as saying that as soon as they get the official report from the Singapore hospital, they will slap murder charges against the accused.

The rape case has rocked India with unprecedented protests by students last weekend. Renewed protests are expected this weekend after the victim of the gang rape died in Singapore this morning.
