Myanmar announces pardon of 452 more prisoners

YANGON - Myanmar President Thursday announced amnesty of 452 more remaining prisoners including foreigners, according to an official report.

The amnesty was given for the sake of "establishing stability of the state and eternal peace, on humanitarian ground, for turning them into citizens who do their bit in nation building tasks realizing sympathy and goodwill of the state and for prolonging friendship with neighboring countries", the New Light of Myanmar quoted the President's announcement as saying.

The government will extradite the foreign prisoners, the announcement added.
