GAZA - Israeli war jets struck several targets in northern Gaza Strip Monday night in response to earlier rocket attacks carried out by Gaza militants on southern Israel, witnesses and security sources said.
The witnesses and sources said Israeli F16 warplanes fired at least seven bombs at two sites belonging to militants in northern and southern Gaza Strip, adding that several powerful explosions were heard all over the area.
Ambulances and rescue teams rushed to the targeted area, but no injuries were reported so far.
The witnesses said the targeted places in northern Gaza are former security posts currently used by Hamas militants.
The security sources said one security post in northern Gaza City was targeted, as well as one military training post of Hamas' armed wing in southern Gaza City.
