PYONGYANG, DPRK - Kim Yong-nam, the ceremonial leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, will attend an international summit in Iran, state media reported on Thursday.

"Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, will take part in the 16th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement to be held in Tehran and pay an official goodwill visit to Iran at the invitation of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad," the official news agency KCNA said.

Iran's Mehr News Agency had misreported that the DPRK's top leader, Kim Jong-un, will attend the summit held from Aug 26 to 31, citing Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi.
