AL urges UN to meet on Syria

DOHA - The Arab League on Monday urged the United Nations to meet on Syria to discuss cutting diplomatic ties with the country.

A resolution from a meeting of the Arab League also asked the United Nations to approve the setting up of a safe zone in Syria to protect the safety of the local residents and to immediately establish a transitional government in the country.
